Site Description

This site provides experimental guidance monthly forecasts of Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Rate of Spread (ROS) and Fire Line Intensity (FLI) from the MC1 Dynamic General Vegetation Model using monthly climate model forecasts. This decision-support tool provides monthly forecasts of physical indices from which thresholds have been linked to historical managed fires (prescribed burns and wildland use fires). Potential uses include resource and budget allocation for fuel treatments.
