National Lightning Detection Network (1990 - 2000)

These lightning climatology products are based upon data collected from the National Lightning Detection Network™ operated by Vaisala-GAI Inc. Available displays include annual, monthly and hourly (universal time) by month maps of cloud-to-ground lightning strike occurrence. Map options include the entire or quarter overlapping sections of the West. Display options include static maps or animations via a user controllable java image player.Note that the contour intervals of strike activity vary by month and by region. Automated Lightning Detection System (1985 - 1996)
	These lightning climatology products are based upon data collected from the Automated Lightning Detection Network operated by the Bureau of Land Management. Available displays include annual, monthly and hourly (universal time) by month mops of cloud-to-ground lightning strike occurrence. The region covered includes primarily the Great Basin states.
